How much does a talent agency in Dubai charge?

Three things move the number more than the talent's name. Duration, because call time starts at arrival, not at the first song. Exclusivity, because a presenter who cannot host a rival brand that week is selling you the week. Languages, because an MC who is fully live in Arabic and English is a different booking from one who reads a translated script.

Each craft is priced in its own unit. Makeup artists in Dubai price per look, not per hour: one independent Dubai artist lists day makeup at AED 400 to 900 and full glam at AED 800 to 1,500. Six guests in full glam is six looks, so a two hour window with one artist is a timing problem before it is a budget problem. MCs price per assignment: rehearsal, script review and moderation are the lines that separate two quotes with the same headline. International acts are a third world, where travel, riders and licensing add 30 to 50 percent on top of the fee.

The permit most event briefs forget

Since the UAE Media Council launched the advertiser permit on 30 July 2025, anyone who publishes promotional content on social media needs one, and the rule covers content that is paid, gifted or unpaid. The deadline was extended to 31 January 2026. By September 2025 more than 1,800 permits had already been issued.

Here is the part event briefs miss. The makeup artist who posts your launch from her own account is advertising your brand. So is the presenter who shares the stage reel. If that person is a visitor, flown in for the night, the visitor permit can only be obtained through a licensed UAE agency, and it lasts three months, renewable once. A talent agency can carry that step. A booking app that just connects you cannot.

The exposure is real money. Under Cabinet Resolution 42 of 2025, social media advertising without a licence carries fines of AED 20,000 to 50,000, and the wider media law allows penalties up to AED 1 million. Our rule is simple: if talent will post, the permit number goes into the booking sheet next to the fee.

Talent agency or booking platform: who carries the risk

A talent agency contracts the talent, invoices you and answers for the booking. A platform lists profiles and takes a commission; the contract is between you and a person you have never met. Both can be legal. The question is who you can hold to the brief when the call time slips.

Independent talent can work legally: a MOHRE freelance permit lets a freelancer invoice any UAE client, for a total setup of roughly AED 3,570 to 7,050. The contrarian point is that the invoice tells you more than the portfolio. An invoice from a licence or a freelance permit means someone is accountable. A request to pay a personal account means you are the one carrying the risk. Before you pay anyone, ask for the licence or permit number.

Who owns the footage and the face

The UAE takes images of people seriously. Article 44 of Federal Law 34 of 2021 sets fines of AED 150,000 to 500,000 and up to six months in jail for capturing or publishing images of people without consent. At an event this lands on guests, not only on booked talent. Consent signage at the door and a line in the ticket terms cost nothing.

For the talent itself, the trap is scope. Event footage and advertising footage are different objects. Dubai does not require a filming permit for events or weddings, but a commercial production does: AED 520 to apply, up to 25 business days for script approval, and AED 25,000 for filming without permission. The night your launch reel is recut into a paid ad, it stops being event coverage.

So write usage into the booking before the event: organic posting, paid media, duration, territory. A presenter's face on a three month paid campaign is not the same deal as a presenter on stage for three hours. Negotiated before the night, it is a line item. Negotiated after, it is leverage for the talent.

The calendar sets the price before you do

Dubai welcomed 19.59 million international overnight visitors in 2025, and December 2025 was the first month the city passed 2.04 million in a single month. Hotel occupancy averaged 80.7 percent. That density is why good talent disappears from the calendar between October and April, and why makeup artists add peak surcharges from October to March.

The practical consequence: a December gala booked in November gets whoever is left. International acts need 3 to 12 months. Local specialists for a peak season weekend need weeks, not days. The cheapest booking we make all year is the one confirmed in the summer.
