How much does a fashion photographer cost in Dubai?

At Cover Page, a fashion shoot in Dubai uses the same three fixed prices as all our content creation. The Photo Package costs AED 2,500 for 100 edited photos, retouched and colour graded, delivered in high resolution for print and in sizes for e-commerce and social media. The Video Package costs AED 3,900 for one scripted video with sound design and colour grading, plus clean scenes for Stories and a teaser. The Photo and Video Pack costs AED 6,500 for a video, a teaser and 100 photos from the same day.

The quote grows with what fashion always adds: more looks, more locations and more permits. A lookbook in one studio is one set up; a campaign moving from a d3 showroom to a rooftop to the dunes is three, each with its own approval and travel. We never suggest splitting a campaign across days to save money, because every extra day repeats the permits, the styling and the model fees.

Milan this week, Dubai next month: the calendar that sets your shoot date

The spring and summer 2027 collections are being shown right now. Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana lists Milano Moda Donna from 22 to 28 September 2026. Exactly one month later, Dubai Fashion Week returns to Dubai Design District from 22 to 26 October 2026, as FEW reported, with a Buyers Programme that brings retailers to designers' showrooms. That gap is the unconventional opportunity: a brand can take looks seen on the Milan runway and shoot them in Dubai light before the Gulf buyers arrive, with pictures nobody else has.

Dubai also opens the other half of the year. For the autumn and winter 2026 and 2027 season, TECOM Group announced that Dubai Fashion Week, held from 1 to 6 February 2026, would be the first fashion week in the world to present those collections, and that Alberta Ferretti would open it with its first full scale show in the Middle East. An Italian house choosing Dubai for a season opener is the clearest sign that the two calendars now talk to each other. For content, it means the busiest weeks for crews in Dubai follow the fashion calendar as a pattern, and good teams are booked early.

What Italian style means on set, beyond the mood board

Italian style is usually reduced to a mood board of old films and sunlight on stone. On set it is a working method. One light source that behaves like the sun, instead of five that flatten the face. One hero garment per frame, with everything else pushed back. Retouching that removes what distracts, not what is human: pores, fine lines and the texture of linen stay. Colour that matches the swatch in the atelier, because a customer who returns a dress for being the wrong shade costs more than the shoot.

We also direct the way Milan does, with fewer takes and more preparation. Styling, casting and the shot list are fixed before the day, so the model spends energy on expression rather than waiting. Dubai light for fashion: work with the sun, not against it

Dubai light is generous and unforgiving. At midday it is hard and vertical, the kind that puts shadows under eyes and burns white fabric. The golden hours are shorter than in Milan, and the blue hour over the towers lasts only minutes. We therefore plan a fashion day around the sun rather than the call sheet: studio or shade for the middle of the day, the exterior looks in the last light, and the evening looks against the city once it switches on.

Heat is part of the plan too. Fabrics wilt, makeup moves and models need breaks, so outdoor looks are short, rehearsed and backed by a cool room nearby. Seasons follow a pattern rather than a rule, but the cooler months that coincide with Dubai Fashion Week are also the months when long exterior shoots become comfortable again.

Agencies, represented photographers and production crews

Search for a fashion photographer in Dubai and you find three kinds of offer. Individual photographers with a portfolio and an Instagram following. Represented photographers, where an agency such as Michelle Hay Management lists Dubai based talent for fashion, editorial, commercial campaigns, high end events, still life and lifestyle. And production crews, which bring photography, film, sound and styling under one brief.

The right choice depends on the output. A single editorial for a magazine suits one represented photographer. A launch that needs a lookbook, a campaign film, vertical cuts and behind the scenes content on the same day suits a crew, because every extra vendor is another person in the model's eyeline. Drones suspended, poles raised: rooftop and runway views in 2026

Aerial runway shots and rooftop panoramas are grounded for now. The GCAA's official X channel remains the place where any change will be announced, and as of 24 September 2026 we have found no official notice lifting Safety Decision 2026-03, under which drone operations across the UAE are suspended and only a written GCAA exemption allows a flight.

For the overhead view of a runway, a catwalk on a rooftop or a model on the dunes, we use telescopic poles and arms that lift a camera up to about 10 metres. A pole mounted camera is not an aircraft: the GCAA defines an unmanned aircraft as an aircraft operated with no pilot on board, and the pole never leaves the operator's hands. Location permits and venue rules still apply, and we clear them before the shoot.

Filmed on cinema tools: the cameras behind every Cover Page shoot

For stills, the Sony A1 carries the job. Its 50.1 megapixel full frame sensor shoots up to 30 frames per second, fast enough for a model turning on the runway and detailed enough to crop one frame into a billboard, a 4:5 post and a 9:16 Story. Amateur Photographer notes that Sony's standard colour is distinctly neutral and well suited to portraits, which is what fashion wants: a clean base that matches the fabric, not a filter.

For motion, the Sony FX5, shipping since August 2026, is the first FX model to record 16 bit X-OCN RAW internally, a format previously kept for the VENICE 2 and BURANO. Sony describes its S-Cinetone profile as delivering natural skin tones and smooth gradation straight out of camera, across more than 15 stops of latitude, which is why a model under the Dubai sun and the same model in a dark showroom look like the same person. It films 5K open gate in 3:2, so one take of a walk gives the horizontal campaign film and the vertical Reel. Three base ISOs of 800, 4000 and 12800, 4K slow motion up to 120 frames per second for a skirt in the wind, and four channels of 32 bit float audio at 96 kHz through the XLR-H2 handle complete the set.
