It depends on the format. Shared party cruises sell seats from about AED 260 to 310 a person for four hours. A small private party runs about AED 1,800 to 3,500 and a standard one AED 4,500 to 8,000. We quote yours as one custom quote.

Rented by the hour, AED 449 to 800 for a sport yacht of 33 to 50 ft (10 to 15 m), AED 599 to 2,000 for a flybridge of 50 to 79 ft (15 to 24 m) and AED 1,400 to 4,500 for a tri deck of 79 ft (24 m) and over.

Hourly rates start around AED 449 for a 40 ft (12.2 m) boat, but most private charters have a two hour minimum and some ask for three or four. A 30 minute private cruise can cost AED 299. For a party, plan on two hours or more.

Less than it looks once you split it. A 68 ft (20.7 m) boat for 30 guests at AED 1,300 an hour costs AED 3,900 for three hours, about AED 130 a guest, while shared cruise seats sell at AED 260 to 310 a person. Catering comes on top.

Dubai suppliers list boats from AED 449 an hour, then the day matters as much as the boat. Weekends can add 15 to 20%, UAE National Day 30 to 50% and New Year's Eve 100 to 150%. Deposits usually run at 50%. A weekday afternoon avoids most surcharges.

More than the hourly rate. What can land on top: 5% VAT, a crew tip of 10 to 15%, port or docking fees of AED 300 to 1,500, a fuel surcharge of AED 500 to 3,000 and cleaning at AED 300 to 800. Some rate cards already include VAT and fuel.

A passport copy or Emirates ID for every guest, a guest list within the boat's licensed capacity, flat soles, and swimwear if you plan to swim. The charter usually includes the captain, crew, fuel, ice, water and soft drinks. We add the rest: DJ, shows, photo and video, catering, decor, staff, even a private chef.

Our team books it all on board: a DJ with sound from AED 1,500, live shows (saxophone, violin, dancers) from AED 1,500, a photographer from AED 2,500 and a videographer from AED 3,900. Keep music moderate near the coast, where operators control sound near homes on the shore.

It depends on the boat. Each operator has its own policy on serving alcohol and on bringing your own, within its licence. We confirm your boat's policy before you book, and plan soft drinks and mocktails either way.

Smart casual in light fabrics. Wear flat or soft soles, or go barefoot on deck, and bring swimwear if the plan includes a swim stop. Winter evenings on the water can be cool, so pack a light layer.
