Most advice on wedding social media is about captions and hashtags. The decisions that decide whether your wedding travels online are made much earlier: which camera films the moment, in which frame, who is allowed to appear, and which rules apply once a vendor is tagged. Dubai adds its own layer, from privacy law to the 2026 advertiser permit and a sky with no drones. This guide covers what social content for a Dubai wedding costs, the formats Instagram and TikTok reward this year, and how to plan the night, the week after and the first anniversary.

What does social media content for a Dubai wedding cost?

At Cover Page, social content for a wedding starts from AED 2,500 with the Photo Package of 100 edited photos. The Video Package is AED 3,900, and the Photo and Video Pack is AED 6,500 with a video, a teaser and 100 photos, as listed on our content creation Dubai page. If the social content sits inside full wedding coverage, packages start at AED 4,300 for Photography, AED 6,500 for Videography and AED 8,600 for both.

The price of social content is really the price of planning. A Reel that works was decided before the wedding: which ten seconds open it, which song carries it, which guests stay out of it. The busier the city, the more that planning matters. Dubai welcomed about 869,000 international overnight visitors in August 2026, its highest month since February, as Gulf News reported, and the cooler months ahead bring the busiest venue calendars of the year.

The formats that travel in 2026

Length is no longer the limit. PostFast's September 2026 spec sheet lists Instagram Reels at up to 20 minutes, 1080 by 1920 pixels in 9:16, with a tall 3:4 option at 1080 by 1440, and it notes Instagram's own warning that Reels over 3 minutes are not recommended to new audiences. Moonb, a video agency, puts the 2026 sweet spot at 45 to 60 seconds and says the first 3 seconds still decide the rest. Creatorflow sums up the three ranking signals Instagram's head Adam Mosseri has named: watch time, shares by direct message, and original content.

For a wedding that points to a simple plan. One tight Reel of under a minute on the night, built to be sent to family by DM. A longer story of the day a week later, for people who already follow you. And original files, never screen recordings, because originality now counts.

What Instagram and TikTok changed this year

Several 2026 updates matter more to couples than to brands. SocialBee's tracker lists that in June Instagram let the Edits app export videos of up to 15 minutes and added a Loudness Match setting, let users remove reposts of their posts shared by others, and extended screenshot prevention to Stories. In August it started a Bonuses programme that pays eligible creators for photo and carousel posts. On TikTok, SocialBee notes an April privacy setting called Allow AI to remix content and the global roll out of Repost Notes in September.

Two of those are privacy tools as much as features. Turning off AI remixing and removing unwanted reposts gives you some control once the Reel leaves your account. On the brand side, TikTok announced at TikTok World on 13 May 2026 a Branded Buzz solution that lets advertisers collaborate with creators on large campaigns, a reminder that vendors now plan content around weddings as well. Know who is filming for whom before the day.

Night of, week after, first anniversary: a posting plan

Our plan runs in three waves. The night of the wedding: Stories and one short Reel from the phone, cut while the party is still going. The week after: the cinematic Reel from the cinema camera, graded properly, with the vows audible. The first anniversary: an unseen edit from the same footage, which is the post couples say they love most because nobody expects it.

Guests change the plan too. The Social Wedding, an award winning UK creator, builds its service around couples and guests staying fully present and phone free. We agree with that direction: when one professional is filming for social, the rest of the room can put their phones down, and your ceremony photos are not full of screens. For the still portraits that anchor the grid, see our guide to the wedding photographer Dubai question and its light window.

‍

Who can appear online: consent across the whole event

Privacy law covers the whole wedding, not one room. It reaches the bridal suite, the lobby, the aisle, the beach and the after party. Gulf News' Ask the Law column explains that the UAE cybercrime law punishes anyone who uses a network to invade the privacy of another person's private or family life without consent, and that Article 44 of Federal Decree Law No. 34 of 2021 sets imprisonment of no less than six months and a fine of AED 150,000 to AED 500,000.

The practical rule is two galleries. The private gallery can hold everyone. The public Reel shows only people who have agreed to be online. Children, staff, guests from families that prefer privacy and anyone in a women's hall stay out unless someone with the right to consent says yes. We record those names in the brief, so the editor never has to guess at midnight.

‍

‍

The 2026 advertiser permit and vendor tags

Middle East Briefing reported on 2 February 2026 that from 1 February 2026 anyone advertising online from within the UAE must hold a valid advertiser permit, covering both paid and unpaid promotional content on all digital platforms, with fines and sanctions set out in Cabinet Resolution No. 42 of 2025. That matters when a dress designer, a florist or a venue offers something in return for tags. The moment a post is part of a deal, it can fall under these rules. Ask the vendor how it is handled before you agree, and keep your own wedding posts free of promises you did not make.

‍

‍

Locations, drones and the view from above

A Reel shot in three places looks rich, and it costs more. Each location needs its own permit, recce, travel time and set up, so a multi location day carries a higher fee than a single venue. We never recommend splitting a session to save money, because the paperwork multiplies. Our guide to pre wedding photoshoot locations in Dubai covers which places need what.

The drone shot that opens so many wedding Reels is not available in the UAE right now. Drone operations have been suspended since 28 February 2026 under GCAA Safety Decision 2026-03, and while flight approvals are requested through the GCAA's own drone portal, only a written GCAA exemption allows a flight during the suspension. As of 24 September 2026 we have found no official notice lifting it. We use telescopic poles and arms that lift a camera up to about 10 metres for aerial style openings instead. A pole mounted camera is not an aircraft, as the GCAA defines an unmanned aircraft as one operated with no pilot on board, but location permits and venue rules still apply.

Filmed on cinema tools: the cameras behind every Cover Page shoot

Social content is where our camera choice shows most. The Sony FX5, Sony's newest cinema camera, shipping since August 2026, films 5K open gate in 3:2. That taller frame is the whole trick: from one take of your first dance we cut a vertical 9:16 Reel, a 3:4 post and a horizontal 16:9 film, without asking you to dance twice. CineD's review describes the triple base ISO of 800, 4000 and 12800 and Sony's 16 bit X-OCN RAW, the codec from the BURANO, now recorded inside an FX body for the first time, and flags that a few modes, such as open gate at 120 frames per second, arrive with a firmware update expected after August 2027. At launch it records more than 15 stops of dynamic range, 4K slow motion at up to 120 frames per second, and four channels of 32 bit float audio at 96 kHz through the XLR-H2 handle.

The phone does the instant work. Our Xiaomi 17 Ultra with Leica optics, tested with 200 sample photos and video by PhotoBohemian, shoots the same day Stories while the cinema files wait for the grade. Amateur Photographer notes that Leica even sells its own version of this phone as the Leitzphone.

  • Sony A1: 50.1 megapixels and 8K video, for stills sharp enough to crop into a vertical post.
  • Sony A7R III: 42.4 megapixels for details and the tablescape.
  • Polaroid Now Generation 3: a two lens autofocus instant camera; a photo of the Polaroid print being handed over is one of the most shared frames of the night.
  • DJI Mini 5 Pro: only when the GCAA allows drone operations again.

The Cover Page Shooting Brief

Great social content is decided before the wedding, and the Cover Page Shooting Brief is where we decide it with you. It is our own interactive creation, not a form: it discovers the Reels you love, the songs you would never use, the guests who must stay offline and the moments you would hate to miss.

It is also an insurance policy. Before any deposit, you see exactly which clips, Reels and photos you will receive, and our reading of your answers proves the crew understands the job. It is free for every couple. For how a full crew turns that brief into photos, film and Reels, read about our wedding content creation agency in Dubai.

FAQ

How much does social media content for a wedding cost in Dubai?

At Cover Page, wedding social content starts from AED 2,500 for 100 edited photos, the Video Package is AED 3,900 and the Photo and Video Pack AED 6,500. Full wedding packages are AED 4,300, AED 6,500 and AED 8,600. Hours, locations and permits set the final figure.

How long should a wedding Reel be?

Reels can run to 20 minutes, but Instagram does not recommend Reels over 3 minutes to new audiences. For the night of the wedding we cut under a minute, and a longer edit follows a week later.

Who are some good social media content creators for weddings?

Look for a creator who plans the shot list with your photographer and videographer, knows your venue, handles guest consent and delivers original files rather than screen recordings.

How do I announce my wedding on social media?

Post one short Reel on the night, built to be shared by message with family, then a longer story of the day a week later, and save an unseen edit for the first anniversary.

What to write in a wedding Instagram post?

Keep it short and personal: the date, the place, one line only the two of you would write. Let the first 3 seconds of the video do the work.

Can guests appear in our wedding Reels without permission in the UAE?

No. UAE privacy law covers the whole event. Only guests who agree to be online should appear in public posts, and we record who stays out in the brief.

Do we need an advertiser permit to tag wedding vendors?

Since 1 February 2026, paid and unpaid promotional content in the UAE needs an advertiser permit. If a vendor offers something in exchange for tags, ask how the permit is handled before you agree.

Can one camera shoot both vertical and horizontal wedding video?

Yes. Our Sony FX5 films 5K open gate, a taller frame from which we cut 9:16 Reels, 3:4 posts and a 16:9 film from the same take.

Can we have drone shots for our wedding Reels in Dubai?

Not without a written GCAA exemption, as drone operations are suspended. Telescopic poles of up to about 10 metres give aerial style shots instead.

What is the Cover Page Shooting Brief?

Our own interactive experience that maps your taste, your privacy choices and exactly what you will receive, before any deposit. It is free for every couple, and access is private: request yours and we send your login within 24 hours.
