Gulfood 2027 Dubai: Dates, Venues, Hostesses and Sampling Staff

Quick answer
Gulfood 2027 runs from 15 to 19 March 2027 across two venues, Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City Dubai, open 10:00 to 18:00 and until 17:00 on the final day. The organiser announces more than 8,500 exhibitors from 195 countries and over 1.2 million products for 2027; visitor targets are not yet published. For scale, the 2026 edition covered more than 280,000 square metres, according to the Dubai Media Office, and drew nearly 300,000 attendees, according to the organiser's results.
It is a trade only show. For exhibitors, the stand that wins is the one that is staffed well: multilingual hostesses to greet and qualify buyers, sampling promoters who serve safely under Dubai Municipality food safety guidance, and one person whose only job is to capture leads. Book the team by January, not the week before.
Updated 29 September 2026
Every year the question starts the same way: when is Gulfood, and where? For 2027 the answer changes twice. The show moves from its usual late January slot to March, and it keeps the two venue format it introduced in 2026. For visitors that means new travel plans. For the thousands of companies taking a stand, it means one more thing: a bigger floor, more halls and more buyers walking past your counter in five days.
This guide gives visitors the essentials first, dates, venues, a map and tickets, then the story of the show, the brands that stood out and what a stand involves. It closes with what exhibitors ask us every season: how many hostesses and sampling promoters a stand needs, what the food safety rules say about tastings, how to capture leads, how to get content out the same day, and when to book.
Gulfood 2027 dates, venues and opening hours
According to the organiser's exhibitor page, Gulfood 2027 takes place from 15 to 19 March 2027, from 10:00 to 18:00 on the first four days and 10:00 to 17:00 on Friday 19 March. It runs across Dubai World Trade Centre and the Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City Dubai, with more than 8,500 exhibitors from 195 countries and over 1.2 million products announced.
The two venue model is recent. The Dubai Media Office reported on 26 January 2026 that the 31st edition, the largest in the show's history, spread more than 280,000 square metres across both venues and was the first held at the newly expanded Dubai Exhibition Centre.
Where Gulfood 2027 happens: the two venues on a map
Gulfood 2027 is one show in two places, and the distance between them shapes every plan, from where your team sleeps to when your buyer meetings start. Dubai World Trade Centre sits on Sheikh Zayed Road with its own metro station and 7,530 parking spaces. The Dubai Exhibition Centre sits in Expo City Dubai, next to Expo 2020 Station and about 40 km from Dubai International Airport, according to the organiser's visitor FAQs.
For the 2026 edition, the organiser's plan your trip page set out how to move between the two: the Red Line metro links World Trade Centre Station and Expo 2020 Station in about 50 minutes end to end, and free inter venue shuttle buses ran every 15 minutes from 8 am to 7 pm, picking up at Exhibition Plaza, Convention Gate at the Trade Centre. Expo City offered more than 10,000 free parking spaces, while Trade Centre parking was paid. From Dubai International Airport, allow 10 to 15 minutes to the Trade Centre and 45 to 50 minutes to Expo City. Check the 2027 page for this year's shuttle times.

Every F&B sector at Gulfood 2027, venue by venue
Gulfood groups exhibitors by sector, and for 2027 each sector has a fixed home in one of the two venues. The organiser's sector map shows seven sectors at Dubai World Trade Centre and five at the Dubai Exhibition Centre. Knowing your hall decides where your team sleeps, which metro stop you use and which buyers walk past your stand.

Venue and hall names follow the organiser's 2027 sector map; hall details come from the 2026 sector pages and can move before the show. For scale, the 2026 sector pages listed more than 340 dairy exhibitors from over 60 countries with 27 dairy pavilions, and more than 305 Power Brands exhibitors, 158 of them first timers, from 43 countries. The Seafood sector opened Gulfood's first dedicated Seafood Sourcing Zone, with exporters from Norway, India, Ecuador and beyond. Whatever your hall, we brief stand staff on your sector and film same day content that fits it.
How to get Gulfood 2027 tickets
Gulfood is a trade event, and every visitor needs an online registration and a printed badge. Based on the organiser's pages, the process works like this:
- Register online. The official 2027 visitor registration is open on the official Gulfood 2027 visitor registration page. For now it is a register your interest form: name, company, job function and product interests.
- Buy your pass when sales open. 2027 prices are not yet published. For reference, the Expo City Dubai listing showed tickets from AED 450 for 2026, and the organiser's 2025 visitor page offered a limited Super Saver rate of AED 295. Early registration has been cheaper in past editions.
- Buyers can upgrade. For 2026, a visitor could upgrade to Premium Buyer for AED 500 to access the Big Deal Hub, an AI matchmaking and concierge service that lines up around 10 to 12 meetings a day.
- Print your badge. Badges are issued about a week before the show, printed in colour on A4, and shown with a passport or Emirates ID.
- Check the rules. The current admission policy admits trade and business professionals aged 18 or over only, badges are non transferable, payments are not refunded, and nothing is sold on the floor.
What your badge opens. Beyond the halls, Gulfood runs its own programme. In 2026 it launched the Gulfood World Economy Summit, four days on food security, trade diplomacy and resilience, alongside the Future Food500 and NXT Stage conference tracks, the Dubai World Cuisine live kitchens and Tastes of the World, which turned more than 150 country pavilions into a five day culinary route by region. Guided Discovery Tours cut sourcing paths through both venues, with themes such as dairy, beverages and startups.
Free tickets: we checked the official exhibitor and visitor pages and found no published free visitor route for 2027. If someone offers you a free pass or an invitation code, confirm it with the organiser at support@gulfood.com before you travel.

What Gulfood is for: the history of the show
Gulfood exists to put food producers in front of the people who buy for the region: importers, distributors, retailers, hotel and restaurant groups. Dubai's position between Asia, Africa and Europe made it a natural trading floor, and the show grew with the city's role as a food import hub.
It started small. Gulf News records that the first Gulfood took place in 1987 with 65 exhibitors and nearly 1,600 visitors, organised by Dubai World Trade Centre. We could not confirm from a published source where that first edition was held, so we do not repeat the story of a hotel ballroom start. By 2007 the show brought together more than 2,000 companies and over 35,000 visitors. The 30th edition in 2025 filled 24 halls at the Trade Centre with more than 5,500 exhibitors from 129 countries. In 2026 it outgrew one site: two venues, 100 percent more floor space in the organiser's words, more than 280,000 square metres and 8,500 exhibitors. From 65 stands to the Trade Centre and now Expo City, the move feels like a club leaving its first ground for the Parc des Princes. In 2027 it also leaves January for March.

Gulfood over time
| Edition | Venue | Scale |
|---|---|---|
| 1987, first edition | Organised by DWTC (first venue not confirmed) | 65 exhibitors, nearly 1,600 visitors |
| 2007 | Dubai World Trade Centre | 2,000+ companies, 35,000+ visitors |
| 2025, 30th edition | Dubai World Trade Centre, 24 halls | 5,500+ exhibitors, 129 countries |
| 2026, 31st edition | DWTC plus Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City | 8,500+ exhibitors, 195 countries, 280,000+ sqm, nearly 300,000 attendees |
| 2027, 15 to 19 March | DWTC plus Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City | 8,500+ exhibitors, 195 countries announced |
Brands that stood out at recent editions
The results report published after Gulfood 2026, carried by Food Business Gulf, lists AED 168 billion in deals and more than 3,500 curated buyer meetings. Behind those totals are brands that used five days well:
- Frío Beverages signed a major Gulf distribution agreement with Al Maya Distribution.
- Dilmah Ceylon Tea formalised iced tea distribution in the UAE with Al Maya.
- Brands Republic secured an exclusive distribution deal projected at AED 500 million over five years.
- Emirates Snack Foods built one of its largest stands to date, with live cooking by professional chefs, product presentations and extensive sampling, as the company reported.
The pattern is consistent. Deals went to brands that arrived with a clear offer for a specific market, and attention went to stands that let buyers taste, watch and talk to someone who knew the product. Gulfood's own post show report of 27 January 2026 adds that established multinationals filled the new strategic sectors, Gulfood Fresh, Grocery Trade and Gulfood Logistics, and quotes Premium Buyers who valued sourcing power brands and emerging sectors in one place. We looked for a widely reported spirits or tequila style breakout at recent editions and could not verify one, so it is not included here.
Book your stand at Gulfood 2027
A stand at Gulfood pays back fastest for companies that need buyers more than they need visibility:
- Exporters entering the GCC. Producers looking for their first importer or distributor in the region, often inside their country's national pavilion.
- New brands seeking distributors. The Big Deal Hub matches serious buyers with exhibitors, and exhibitors pay no fee for it.
- Country pavilions. Trade agencies bringing a group of producers under one flag.
- Startups. Gulfood Startups gathers more than 250 startups and 150 investors, with a separate enquiry route to exhibit in 2027. Exhibiting startups can enter the World Agri FoodTech Startup Challenge: USD 135,000 in prizes in 2026, and the top three each won a stand at Gulfood 2027.
- Brands with a new product. The Gulfood Innovation Awards judge ten categories, from best beverage and best dairy product to best packaging and best savoury snack.
- Regional brands launching products. Companies that already sell in the Gulf and use the show to present new lines to buyers from 195 countries.
A success story that starts on the floor. The USDA Foreign Agricultural Service reported that at Gulfood 2017, 169 US companies in the USA Pavilion generated USD 85.5 million in on site sales and projected USD 722 million over the following twelve months. The pavilion sold out in under 24 hours, and 85 percent of participants planned to return. That is the pattern of the show: a first stand becomes a first order, then a distributor, then a yearly booking.
Why exhibitors choose Gulfood, in their own words. Gulfood published these three exhibitor videos on its exhibitor page. Tap a card to play the video; nothing loads until you do.

What a stand costs. Gulfood does not publish space rates per square metre, and Skimbox notes that no Dubai organiser does: you receive a quote for raw space or shell scheme, plus corner or island premiums and mandatory extras. For planning, EFFECT Global publishes stand investment ranges, shown here in AED at the fixed 3.6725 rate:
Gulfood stand budget, planning ranges in AED
| Item | Typical range | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Entry stand, 9 to 24 sqm | AED 44,000 to 103,000 | EFFECT Global (USD 12,000 to 28,000) |
| Custom stand, 24 to 72 sqm | AED 103,000 to 294,000 | EFFECT Global (USD 28,000 to 80,000) |
| Island stand, 72 to 200 sqm | AED 294,000 to 918,000 | EFFECT Global (USD 80,000 to 250,000) |
| Space rental per sqm | Quoted by the organiser | Not published |
| Stand staff: hostesses, sampling promoters, team leader | On request | Cover Page Agency |

To book, start on the organiser's Why exhibit at Gulfood 2027 page, which links to the stand enquiry form, the startup showcase enquiry and the sales team at gulfood@dwtc.com. Prime locations in both venues go early, so book space first and staff second, but not too long after.

Why food exhibitors book sampling promoters and stand hostesses
At a show with thousands of stands, a buyer decides in seconds whether to stop. A tasting is the fastest reason to stop, and a good host is the reason to stay.
A trade show adds another layer. Cvent's compilation of trade show research shows that 72 percent of attendees are more likely to buy from exhibitors they meet at a show, yet 94 percent of marketers believe their company fails to turn event leads into opportunities. The gap is people: who greets, who serves, who asks the right question and who writes it down.
- Sampling promoters prepare and serve tastings, keep the counter clean and tell the product story in one sentence.
- Multilingual stand hostesses welcome buyers in Arabic, English, French, Russian, Mandarin or Hindi, qualify them and hand them to your sales team.
- A lead capture host scans badges, records needs and books follow up meetings.
- A team leader on larger stands runs breaks, restocking and the rota across long days.
Food sampling rules at Dubai exhibitions
Serving food at an exhibition in Dubai falls under Dubai Municipality food safety guidance. Its Food Safety Guidelines for Food Exhibitions in Dubai (2022 edition, the latest version we could verify, distributed to exhibitors by RX) set out the basics every sampling team should follow:
- Food handlers who live in the UAE must hold a valid occupational health card.
- Hot food is held above 60°C and cold food below 5°C.
- No bare hand contact with food: use gloves, tongs or spoons, and change gloves often.
- Exhibitors who only sample do not need prior approval from the Food Safety Department, but selling food requires a permit, and packaged foods must be labelled to Dubai rules.
Practical steps that follow: single use tasting cups and picks, a hand wash routine at every break, a temperature log for chilled and hot items, allergen cards in Arabic and English, and a clear "not for sale" line, as the Halal Foundation's guide recommends. Build refrigeration into the stand design early; EFFECT Global's stand guide warns it cannot be an afterthought. The organiser's admission policy adds one more line for visitors: under Dubai Municipality rules, food and drink samples may not be taken out of the exhibition halls. Always confirm the current requirements with the organiser before the show.
How many staff does a Gulfood stand need?
The right number depends on stand size, how many products you sample and whether you run a kitchen. The table below is the planning guide we use with exhibitors; it assumes two shifts on long days so nobody serves for eight hours straight.
Gulfood stand staffing, a planning guide
| Stand size | Sampling team | Hostesses and leads | Book by |
|---|---|---|---|
| 9 to 24 sqm, shell scheme | 1 to 2 sampling promoters | 1 multilingual hostess | Mid January |
| 24 to 72 sqm, custom stand | 2 to 4 sampling promoters | 2 hostesses, 1 lead capture host | Early January |
| 72 to 200 sqm, island stand | 4 to 6 promoters plus a live cooking assistant | 3 to 4 hostesses, 1 lead capture host, 1 team leader | December |
| Country pavilion | 1 promoter per brand counter | Pavilion hostesses at every entrance, 1 team leader per hall | November |
Add language needs to the brief early: a Russian speaking hostess or a Mandarin speaker is easy to find in November and hard to find in March, when every stand in both venues is looking at the same time.
Lead capture: turning a tasting into a buyer meeting
A tasting is a conversation starter, not a result. The result is a qualified lead with a next step. We brief every lead host on three questions: who the buyer is, which market they supply and what they want to see next. Answers go into your scanner or form in the moment, not onto business cards collected in a bowl. Gulfood sells exhibitors its own Lead Capture Tool, badge scanning in the Gulfood app for AED 1,000, and the admission policy tells visitors that a badge scan shares their data with the exhibitor.
Speed matters after the show too. The Halal Foundation advises cleaning and prioritising leads and sending personal follow ups within 24 to 72 hours. We hand over the lead sheet at the end of every show day, so your sales team can book meetings for the next morning while the buyer is still in Dubai.
Same day photo and video from your stand
For five days Gulfood is one of the most posted events in Dubai. Buyers, chefs, media and the organiser all publish in real time, and the brands that post while the show is running ride that wave on social and on the web. Content that arrives a week later arrives after the conversation has moved on.
That is why Cover Page Agency in Dubai has made on spot editing the standard, not a luxury. Our photographer shoots your stand, your chef and your buyer meetings, and within the hour you receive edited, print quality photos at 300 ppi, ready for your socials, your website and the press. Short reels follow the same day. Demand at a show changes by the hour, and so does our plan: more tastings in the morning, more interviews in the afternoon.
The kit is cinema grade. Video is filmed on the Sony FX5, which records internal 16 bit X-OCN RAW, shoots 5K open gate in 3:2, holds more than 15 stops of dynamic range with base ISO 800, 4000 and 12800, captures 32 bit float audio at 96 kHz on four channels through the XLR-H2 handle, and films slow motion up to 120 fps in 4K. Stills come from the Sony A1, 50.1 megapixels with 8K video, so a single frame can go on a billboard or a trade magazine cover.

Print quality 300 ppi photos for socials and press, filmed by the same agency that staffs your counter.
When to book your Gulfood 2027 team
With the show in March, the working calendar moves too. Book your team by mid January for smaller stands and by December for islands and pavilions. Hold a product training session one to two weeks before opening, with tastings for the staff themselves, and a walk through of both venues on build up day. Selection takes time: for Van Cleef & Arpels at Dubai Watch Week 2025 we spent one month selecting 150 staff for one week across three locations.
Since 2015 we have staffed launches, exhibitions and sampling campaigns in Dubai with hostesses, promoters, sampling staff and models, each one on a valid UAE permit and briefed on the brand before the first guest arrives.
What we see on the floor
What we see on the floor, by Lukas Götze
On a food stand the first hour tells you how the week will go. Stands with one person doing everything, serving, talking, scanning, lose buyers at the counter while the queue grows. Stands where the roles are split, one serving, one greeting, one capturing, turn the same crowd into meetings.
The detail buyers notice is not the stand design. It is a clean counter at 17:00 on day four, a promoter who can answer where the product is made, and a hostess who greets them in their own language. That is what we brief for, and why we put a team leader on every stand from five staff.
